PUBG Mobile adds Brainrot Royale mode, launches $95,000 mod contest

Tencent Games announced a partnership with Do Big Studios to introduce Brainrot Royale, a new competitive mode for PUBG Mobile’s World of Wonder platform. The mode, released on 7 August, lets players collect and defend “Brainrot” items, invade rival bases, and face boss encounters, adding layers of collection, progression, and direct combat.

Separately, KRAFTON teamed up with the CurseForge platform (operated by Overwolf) to run the PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS UGC Contest, running from 12 August to 2 September. The global competition offers a total prize pool of $95,000 across combat, survival, and creative categories, with winning mods slated for integration into the forthcoming PUBG: Playgrounds hub, a new in‑game space for community‑created modes and maps.
