PUBG Mobile announces version 4.6 update and new Light version

PUBG Mobile developers have announced several major updates for the franchise. The version 4.6 patch is scheduled for release on September 9, 2026, featuring a gothic-themed Bloodline Awakening mode. This update will introduce reworked locations in Erangel, such as Pochinki and Rozhok, alongside new PvE enemies including the Bloodwalker, Nightbat, and Vampire Elder. The patch also includes new mechanics like the Blood Pact for partners and a reworked death mechanic where players temporarily transform into vampires.

Additionally, producer Rick Li announced the development of PUBG Mobile Light, a smaller and more optimized version of the game designed for lower-end devices. Pre-registration for the Light version begins on August 25, 2026, with a release planned for later this year. The app aims for a smaller initial footprint, requiring 1 GB on Android and 2 GB on iOS. Players will be able to use their existing PUBG Mobile accounts and carry over owned items. The Light version will support cross-play with the original game and will receive synchronized updates. In India, the counterpart game BGMI is also expected to receive a Lite version.
