PUBG Mobile expands global esports reach through regional championships

PUBG Mobile continues to expand its global esports presence, highlighted by the recent PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) at the Esports World Cup in Paris. Oliver Ye, senior director of PUBG Mobile Global Esports, noted that the game's portability is a key driver for its growth, allowing players and fans to engage anytime and anywhere.

To support its massive communities in Southeast Asia, India, and Pakistan, developers focus on optimizing performance for budget gaming phones and varying network environments. This focus addresses challenges faced by teams, such as the Pakistani squad 4Thrives, where players may be geographically dispersed.

In the South Asian region, the PUBG Mobile National Championship (PMNC) 2026 Fall is scheduled for August 26 to 30, 2026. The tournament features 24 teams from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and the Maldives. The top three teams will qualify for the PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2026 Season 2 South Asia Finals, competing for a total prize pool of $10,000.
