Publiacqua donates 2,860 trees to Italian municipalities

Publiacqua is donating 2,860 trees and shrubs to various municipalities in Italy to support urban green spaces. The plants are being salvaged from a site in Bottegone, Pistoia, where the company is constructing a new water purification plant.

The donation includes a diverse range of species, such as olives, oaks, mulberry, maples, willows, and magnolias, aimed at enhancing local biodiversity. The recipient municipalities include Florence (780 plants), the Mugello Union of Municipalities (1,300 plants), Scandicci (350), Bagno a Ripoli (250), Pontassieve (130), and Reggello (50).

While Publiacqua is providing the plants free of charge, the beneficiary administrations are responsible for the costs of extraction and transport. The initiative is described as an application of circular economy principles, transforming the necessity of infrastructure development into an opportunity for environmental preservation and climate change adaptation.
