Public Companies Hold Over 1.26 Million Bitcoin, About 6% of Supply

The top 100 publicly listed firms now own roughly 1,264,867 BTC, representing about 6 % of Bitcoin’s 21 million‑coin cap. In 2026 these firms added a net 166,984 BTC, outpacing the roughly 81,153 BTC mined year‑to‑date, according to BTC Treasuries data.

MicroStrategy leads the corporate holdings with 847,363 BTC, followed by Twenty One Capital (43,514 BTC), Metaplanet (43,000 BTC) and several other firms such as MARA Holdings and Coinbase Global. The combined corporate stash is valued at roughly $79 billion.

Analysts note that the accelerating corporate accumulation could tighten the remaining Bitcoin supply, potentially reshaping market dynamics and increasing the asset’s institutional character. The shift may also introduce new systemic risks linking the cryptocurrency market more closely to public‑equity performance.
