Public defender offices in Brazil announce new recruitment exams

Public defender offices in the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Paraíba have announced new civil service examinations to fill various positions.

The São Paulo State Public Defender's Office (DPE-SP) will open registrations for its 10th public contest on October 13. The recruitment aims to hire new public defenders. Applications must be submitted online via the Fundação Carlos Chagas (FCC) website between October 13 and November 11. The registration fee is R$ 250.00.

In Paraíba, the State Public Defender's Office (DPE PB) has released an edict offering 20 vacancies for both medium and higher education levels. Positions include Technicians and Analysts in specialized areas such as legal assistance, auditing, systems development, psychology, social work, and information security. Registration through the Fundação Carlos Chagas website is open from September 28 until November 13, 2026. Fees are set at R$ 103.00 for technical roles and R$ 123.00 for analyst roles, with various exemptions available for specific social groups.
