Public Employment Service defends legality of new building project

The Public Employment Service (DYPA) has issued a statement defending the legality of the completion procedures for its new central administration building. The agency dismissed recent media reports regarding the project as false.

According to the agency, the project was awarded through two public limited-tender competitions and has been reviewed by the Court of Audit, the Council of State, the Technical Chamber of Greece, and the Recovery and Resilience Facility. The contract covers the acquisition of a completed building tailored to the agency's needs, including construction work, technical interventions, equipment, and LEED energy certification.

Payments are being made strictly according to contract terms and required certifications. The project is being monitored through a programmatic agreement with the Technical Chamber of Greece. Furthermore, the Municipality of Athens has issued an administrative act valid until May 25, 2027, which legitimizes completed works and approves ongoing internal reconfigurations. DYPA emphasized that the project is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, resulting in no additional burden on Greek taxpayers.
