Public health diagnostic services expanded in Argentina and Dominican Republic

Public health services are being expanded through new diagnostic capabilities in Argentina and the Dominican Republic.

In Río Grande, Argentina, the municipality is upgrading the ‘Dr. Fernando Carlos Matera’ Municipal Clinical Analysis and Molecular Biology Laboratory. The investment includes a new microscope with LED lighting and a 24-sample centrifuge to improve the precision and speed of sample processing. The laboratory provides routine and complex studies, such as blood counts, glucose, and infectious disease testing, with sample collection points available at several municipal health centers.

In the Dominican Republic, the National Health Service (SNS) has inaugurated new clinical laboratories at the Antonio Manuel Núñez Primary Care Center in Monte Llano and the Flor Sánchez Alberto center in Aguayo. These facilities include hematology and clinical chemistry equipment. Additionally, the SNS is introducing X-ray and sonography services at these locations to reduce the need for patients to travel to larger hospitals for diagnostic imaging.
