Public holidays in Slovenia and Croatia for 2027

In 2027, citizens in Slovenia and Croatia will face fewer opportunities for extended long weekends due to the distribution of public holidays.

In Slovenia, out of 15 holidays and non-working days, only six fall on weekdays, while nine fall on Saturdays or Sundays. Notable weekday holidays include the Slovenian Cultural Holiday on Monday, February 8, and Statehood Day on Friday, June 25. However, several holidays, such as the Day of Resistance Against an Occupier and certain May holidays, fall on weekends or create limited opportunities for extended breaks.

In Croatia, of the 14 holidays and non-working days, six fall on weekends. While the year begins with a long weekend as New Year's Day falls on a Friday, and opportunities for extended breaks exist around Epiphany, Corpus Christi, and in late summer, several major holidays fall on Saturdays or Sundays. This includes Labor Day, Statehood Day, the Assumption of Mary, and both Christmas and Saint Stephen's Day.
