Public infrastructure issues reported in Memmingen and Königstein

Residents in Memmingen are reporting widespread inaccuracies and malfunctions with public clocks across the city. Notable examples include the clocks at Kempter Tor, Ulmer Tor, and the Bismarckschule. The clock at Mariä Himmelfahrt has reportedly been stuck at a specific time for an extended period. The Memmingen city administration stated that while municipal employees typically maintain city clocks, the repair of the historical clock at Kempter Tor has proven more complex than expected due to mechanical and electronic defects. An external specialist firm has now been commissioned to perform the repairs.

In the Königstein region, commuters on the RB12 regional rail line are facing frequent delays and service disruptions. Issues include single-track sections, technical faults such as broken doors, and inadequate passenger information. Local officials, including Kelkheim Mayor Albrecht Kündiger, have called for meetings with rail operators to address growing public dissatisfaction. Infrago, the company responsible for signaling and interlocking, attributed some delays to staffing shortages at the Höchst signal box, though they noted that new personnel have been recruited and trained to mitigate these issues.
