Public Investment Fund involved in Al-Nassr and Newcastle United ownership discussions
The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) is central to ongoing discussions regarding the ownership structures of major football clubs Al-Nassr and Newcastle United.
In discussions concerning Al-Nassr, four parties have reportedly met with the PIF to explore acquiring a significant stake in the club. While no final agreement has been reached, the proposed structure could see investors taking a 70% share, leaving the PIF with a 30% stake, similar to the model used by Al-Hilal. Representatives linked to Cristiano Ronaldo are reportedly among those involved in the talks, which could potentially be resolved during the current season.
Regarding Newcastle United, the club is currently owned by an investment group led by the PIF and RB Sports & Media. Jamie Reuben is identified as the ultimate beneficial owner of RB Sports & Media. The club’s corporate documentation maintains this distinction between the lead member and the co-owner's corporate control.
