Public Investment Fund launches Tawreed supply chain finance platform
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has launched Tawreed Financing Solutions, an innovative digital platform designed to provide supply chain finance products to companies within the Saudi Arabian market. The company has received authorization from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) to begin testing its operations within a regulatory sandbox.
Designed to support the PIF’s strategic targets for 2026–2030, the platform aims to strengthen local supply chains and enhance the role of the private sector, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Tawreed will connect buyers, suppliers, and financial institutions, offering services such as early payment of approved invoices to help businesses manage liquidity and working capital more efficiently.
The initiative aligns with PIF’s broader strategy to increase private sector participation in its projects and portfolio companies. By enabling local banks to access registered suppliers through its digital interface, the platform seeks to diversify financial services and digitize trade in the Kingdom. Tawreed has already entered into binding agreements with several local banks and companies, including Saudi National Bank and Gulf International Bank – Saudi Arabia.
