Public Investment Fund reports strong 2025 growth and profit doubling
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) reported strong financial growth in its 2025 annual report, highlighting its role in driving Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation. Revenues rose by 9% year-on-year to 450 billion riyals, while net profit doubled to over 65 billion riyals, supported by contributions from mature companies within its portfolio.
Assets under management reached approximately 3.4 trillion riyals. Since 2017, the fund has achieved an average annual total shareholder return of 5.8%. While returns were bolstered by increased dividends and strong financial investment yields, they were partially impacted by market volatility affecting certain asset values.
During 2025, the PIF expanded its financing capabilities through the issuance of its first Euro-denominated green bonds and the establishment of a commercial paper program. The fund also launched new entities, including ‘Humane’ to develop artificial intelligence capabilities and ‘Expo 2030 Riyadh’ to manage facilities for the upcoming world expo. Between 2021 and 2025, the fund invested approximately 750 billion riyals domestically.
