Brazil opens Mais Médicos Especialistas registration with monthly stipends up to R$ 20,000
The Brazilian Ministry of Health has opened registration for the second call of the third cycle of the Mais Médicos Especialistas (PMM-E) project. The initiative offers 224 immediate vacancies and 4,350 positions for a reserve list across 24 professional improvement courses in specialties such as anesthesiology, cardiology, gynecology, obstetrics, psychiatry, and urology.
Monthly stipends are scaled based on the Social Vulnerability Index (IVS) of the municipality where the physician works. Professionals in high or very high vulnerability areas can receive up to R$ 20,000 per month, while those in medium and low vulnerability areas receive R$ 15,000 and R$ 10,000, respectively. The program aims to reduce regional inequalities and improve access to specialized care within the Unified Health System (SUS).
Registration is open until October 29, 2026, via the UNA-SUS Portal. Eligible candidates must be physicians with active registration in the Regional Medical Council (CRM) and an active Specialist Qualification Registry (RQE).
