Public libraries in Kraków and Szczecin undergo changes

Public libraries in Poland are undergoing changes to improve accessibility and community engagement. In Kraków, Branch No. 17 of the Library of Kraków has moved to a new location on Ojcowskiej Street. The modernized facility features updated reading rooms and relaxation zones, serving as a cultural hub for workshops, exhibitions, and author meetings. The opening was attended by Kraków Mayor Stanisław Kracik.

In Szczecin, the Culture Committee of the City Council is considering relocating Branch No. 28 of the Municipal Public Library to the former ‘Cezas’ building at Plac Lotników. Proponents of the move suggest the new site would improve accessibility for people with disabilities and provide a better way to utilize the urban space. The committee plans to conduct a feasibility and cost analysis, with a decision expected in approximately six months.
