Public Onassis Schools expand with eight new units in Greece

The Public Onassis Schools project is entering a consolidation phase with the addition of eight new school units for the upcoming academic year. This expansion brings the total number of participating units to 20, including locations in Aegaleo, Rhodes, Heraklion, and Pyrgos. The project aims to serve as a laboratory for educational innovation within the public system.

The initiative is supported by a 160 million euro donation from the Onassis Foundation, which covers infrastructure upgrades and educational support for a total of 22 planned school units. Sofia Lampropoulou, President of the Governing Committee, noted that the current challenge is to translate the ambitious educational vision into daily classroom practice and to disseminate successful methods throughout the broader public school system.
