Public parks in Mexico and Ecuador undergo renovations

Local authorities in Mexico and Ecuador have announced renovation projects for public parks to enhance community recreation and safety.

In Mexico, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa announced the comprehensive rehabilitation of the park in Supermanzana 259, located in Villas Otoch Paraíso. Managed by the Secretaría de Obras Públicas (SEOP), the project includes exercise areas, children's playgrounds, a ‘Pabellón de la Calma’, and solar lighting. To improve security, surveillance cameras will be installed and connected to the C5 Security Complex. The infrastructure will also feature accessibility elements for seniors and people with disabilities.

In Ecuador, remodeling has begun at Parque General Barriga in Riobamba. The works, expected to take 30 to 35 days, aim to improve facilities for athletes, entrepreneurs, and senior citizens. Key improvements include a dedicated platform for elderly residents to play board games, a new roof for local entrepreneurs to protect them from weather conditions, and upgrades to the sports court, which may eventually include synthetic turf.
