Public Revenue Office launches tourism tax campaign in Dojran

The Public Revenue Office (UJP) has launched a campaign titled ‘Fair tourism begins with reported income’ to encourage individuals in the tourism sector to regularly report their earnings. During an information session in Dojran, officials met with accommodation providers, hoteliers, and seasonal workers to discuss taxation obligations.

The campaign emphasizes that income generated from renting real estate for tourism—including apartments, rooms, houses, and villas—must be reported and taxed, regardless of whether payments are made in cash or through digital platforms. The obligation also extends to short-term rentals and bookings made via online channels.

Additionally, the session addressed the formalization of seasonal and temporary employment. Employers were instructed on their legal obligations to register workers according to labor laws. The UJP provided practical guidance on using e-Tax services for reporting income and managing tax calculations. Following the event in Dojran, the campaign is expected to expand to other tourist regions, including Prespa, Struga, and Bitola.
