Public Revenue Office promotes tax compliance in Mavrovo tourism sector
The Public Revenue Office (UJP) held an information session in Mavrovo as part of its ‘Fair tourism begins with reported income’ campaign. Conducted in cooperation with the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuše, the meeting targeted tourism workers, hospitality providers, and individuals renting out short-term accommodations.
Officials emphasized that all income from renting rooms, apartments, houses, or villas must be reported and taxed, regardless of the rental duration, payment method, or whether guests are domestic or foreign. This requirement extends to reservations made through digital platforms such as Booking, Airbnb, Kayak, and TripAdvisor.
The campaign aims to ensure equal conditions for all market participants, increase trust, and foster a competitive tourism sector. The session also covered tax obligations regarding the employment of seasonal workers and demonstrated how to report rental income through the e-Tax Services system.
