Bogotá, Ecuador, and Santiago Centro launch school enrollment

Various Latin American regions have initiated or announced school enrollment processes for upcoming academic cycles.

In Bogotá, Colombia, the Secretary of Education has launched a two-phase virtual enrollment process for public schools for the 2027 school year. The first phase, running from August 10 to September 11, 2026, prioritizes specific groups including students with disabilities, ethnic communities, victims of armed conflict, and those in high poverty levels. Results will be released on September 30, with formalization required starting October 13.

In Ecuador, the Ministry of Education has begun ordinary enrollment for new students in the fiscal system for the Sierra and Amazonia regions. The process started on August 12, 2026, specifically for early childhood education (ages 3 and 4), with extraordinary enrollment expected in September.

In Chile, the School Admission System (SAE) is accepting applications through August 27. In the Santiago Centro area, the SLEP Santiago Centro reports over one thousand vacancies available from kindergarten through high school across its 43 educational establishments.
