Public school teacher arrested in Davao del Oro drug bust

A 45-year-old public school teacher, identified by the alias Jesly, was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, Davao del Oro, on the night of October 22.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI, in coordination with local police, conducted the operation after the suspect allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent. Authorities recovered approximately 73 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱496,400, along with the marked money used in the transaction.

The suspect faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PDEA-XI Regional Director Atty. Benjamin Gaspi stated that the agency remains committed to anti-drug operations regardless of an individual's profession.
