Public sector agencies prioritize efficiency through AI and digital transformation

Government agencies are increasingly looking toward agentic AI to drive efficiency and overcome challenges such as fragmented data and security concerns. Unlike previous AI generations that merely respond to prompts, agentic AI can execute end-to-end workflows, automate processes, and monitor infrastructure for cyber risks while maintaining human oversight.

In the public sector, digital transformation priorities are shifting. According to a Gartner report, 67 percent of government organizations now list operational efficiency as a top three objective, surpassing citizen service improvements in priority. This shift is driven by a need to justify new investments and a desire to deliver value across agencies. However, progress is often hindered by insufficient IT resources, siloed decision-making, and budget constraints.
