Public sector wage increases proposed in Slovakia and Czechia

The Slovak Financial Administration is conducting a large-scale recruitment drive for positions in Senica, Skalica, Dunajská Streda, and Galanta. Starting salaries for these roles range from approximately 1,233 EUR to over 1,570 EUR. While three of the positions require only a secondary school education, the role in Dunajská Streda requires a university degree. Applications are being accepted through late October and early November.

In the Czech Republic, the proposed state budget for next year includes significant increases for public sector wages. The Ministry of Finance expects the average public sector salary to rise by 6.8 percent to 58,130 CZK. This plan aims to benefit low-income earners and those at the start of their careers. The restructuring of salary tables is expected to affect approximately 858,000 public sector employees, with teachers specifically projected to see an average salary increase of 6 percent.
