Eneva expands biodigester project in Amazonas schools
Eneva has expanded its ‘Escolas do Futuro’ (Schools of the Future) project in Amazonas by delivering two new biodigesters to public schools in the municipalities of Itapiranga and Silves. The technology converts organic waste, such as food scraps, into biogas and biofertilizer.
The biogas produced is intended to support school kitchen operations, potentially meeting up to 70% of a school's gas demand, while the biofertilizer can be used in educational gardens. This initiative, in partnership with Amazônia B and Instituto Ecoleta, has already reached five schools across Manaus, Itapiranga, Rio Preto da Eva, and Silves. The project aims to expand to 17 schools by the end of the year, benefiting approximately 5,000 students through sustainable energy and environmental education workshops.
