Public transport route changes proposed in Bacău and Cluj-Napoca
In Bacău, the local administration has prepared a project to modify the route of bus line 14. The proposed change, initiated by the Bacău Metropolitan Area Intercommunity Development Association, aims to improve interconnection with other public transport lines. The new route would divert from its current path to pass through the Central Market and Unirii Boulevard, providing better connectivity for residents in the Milcov area to the city center.
In Cluj-Napoca, a new bus line, Line 49, is scheduled to begin service on October 26, 2026. Spanning 39.1 km, it will become the city's longest public transport line, connecting the Grigorescu, Mănăștur, Zorilor, Bună Ziua, and Gheorgheni neighborhoods. The implementation of Line 49 will result in the suspension of lines 43, 43B, and 45. While officials state the new line offers a direct connection without transfers, some commuters have expressed concerns regarding the long travel times and the cancellation of existing routes.
