Public transport strike endangers service in Potenza, Italy

On 12 June, labor unions called a 24‑hour strike in Potenza over the failure to ratify a new contract for the Miccolis transport company. Without a contract by 30 June, about 150 workers risk losing their jobs and the municipality warned that insufficient regional funding could force a reduction in service levels.

In nearby Matera, authorities are conducting a technical‑legal review of the second‑ranked bidder Dover, which was awarded the contract after appeals. The regional government said it will allow the current Miccolis operator to continue service on a provisional basis until the dispute is resolved, with a possible extension pending a meeting on 18 June.
