Public transport updates in Kaposvár and Maros County

In Kaposvár, Hungary, a new local bus schedule is set to take effect this November. Following discussions by the city council, the changes aim to increase service frequency by approximately 170 departures per month, with over 80 of these occurring on weekends. The expansion includes three new midibus routes designed to access narrower streets in areas such as Zaranyi lakótelep and the Búzavirág–Pipacs utca district.

The initiative is part of a larger transport development program that includes the acquisition of 42 new electric buses. The city will monitor passenger feedback and travel data throughout November and December to make necessary adjustments.

In Romania, officials are addressing the lack of bus service between Csejdi, Tófalva, and Marosvásárhely. Since the discontinuation of the route in February, residents have faced transportation challenges. While school buses continue to serve the area, a permanent public transit solution has been delayed by bureaucratic hurdles and the need for smaller vehicles to make the routes cost-effective. Local authorities, including the Prefect of Maros County, are currently working on potential solutions involving smaller buses and new transit systems.
