Poland regional transport updates: Wrocław bus changes and Chorzów tram restoration

Various regional transport and infrastructure updates are being implemented across several Polish cities.

In Wrocław, significant changes to metropolitan bus services began on August 22. These updates include the introduction of larger articulated buses on key lines, increased service frequency for several routes, and the reinstatement of previously suspended lines serving surrounding municipalities like Kąty Wrocławskie and Siechnice. Additionally, the city is offering historical tram and bus tours through its central districts. However, traffic was briefly disrupted on Wrocławska Street due to decorative elements detaching from a pedestrian bridge, though vehicle movement has since resumed.

In the Silesian region, tram services have resumed on the viaduct between Chorzów, Bytom, and Katowice, restoring direct connections. This reopening necessitates schedule adjustments for multiple tram lines, including lines 6, 9, 11, and 46. Meanwhile, in Bytom, roadwork on the DW774 route between Kryspinów and Cholerzyn is scheduled to begin in late August 2026, involving surface replacement and sidewalk construction.

These collective measures aim to improve transit capacity, passenger comfort, and overall road safety across the affected regions.
