Publicis and Omnicom lead global media agency billings in H1 2026
According to research from COMvergence for the first half of 2026, Publicis Media and Omnicom Media Group emerged as the leading global media management groups in terms of new business billings.
Publicis Media secured the top position with a net amount of $3.24 billion, driven by accounts such as Adidas in Greater China, HP, Microsoft, and Prada. Omnicom Media Group followed in second place with $3.15 billion in total new business, which accounts for wins, losses, and retained accounts. Within the Omnicom group, the agency PHD ranked first globally for both total and net new business, securing accounts for brands including Adidas, Roku, SkyShowtime, and Xiaomi.
WPP ranked third with $2.98 billion, benefiting from a high volume of retained accounts including Estée Lauder, Jaguar Land Rover, and Wendy’s. In contrast, Dentsu and Havas Media Network reported negative balances of $181 million and $343 million, respectively, as losses exceeded new business and renewals.
Industry analysis suggests a shift toward specialized, centrally managed solutions within the five major holding companies. These solutions accounted for $5 billion, or 26 percent, of the $19.2 billion in total media spending investigated during the period.
