Publishing houses launch new literary projects and collections

The publishing industry is seeing new initiatives aimed at diversifying the literary canon. Veus Pròpies, a new Catalan publishing imprint, has launched with the goal of recovering forgotten works and elevating voices that have historically been marginalized, particularly women and authors from different geographies.

In a separate development, Quetzal, an imprint of Grupo Bertrand, has announced its upcoming releases for the end of the year. The selection bridges classical and contemporary literature, featuring works by authors such as Jorge Luis Borges, Simone de Beauvoir, and David Foster Wallace. Notable upcoming titles include a new edition of Ovid’s ‘Cantos de Tristeza’, translated by Carlos Ascenso André, and a work by American historian and activist Rebecca Solnit.
