PUC-SP celebrates 80 years with cultural festival
The Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) celebrated its 80th anniversary with a festival held at the Monte Alegre Campus in Perdizes. The event featured a variety of cultural activities, including musical performances by artists Céu and Chico César at the TUCA theater, university drum corps, and choirs.
In addition to the musical highlights, the celebration included the “80 Anos de Educação para a Cidadania” ceremony. The festival brought together students, faculty, alumni, and local residents, occupying Rua Monte Alegre and various university spaces. The institution, founded in 1946, was recognized for its history of humanistic education, social commitment, and its role in defending democracy and human rights. The celebrations received institutional support from Sesc São Paulo.
