Puccini-inspired 'Turandot delle Stelle' debuts in Italy as Sondra Radvanovsky releases 'Puccini: Heroines' album

On 19 July, the Italian project “Turandot delle stelle” premiered in Piazza Statuto, Pietrasanta, to mark the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s opera. Created by the Tuscan studio Imaginarium, the show combines hand‑drawn videomapping with live music performed by composer‑bassist Davide Giannoni and Chinese guzheng player Zhao Xiaoyu, projected onto the historic Girolamo Ciullia fountain. The production will embark on an international tour between autumn 2026 and 2027, visiting cities such as Tokyo, Seoul and San Francisco.

In parallel, soprano Sondra Radvanovsky released the Pentatone album “Puccini: Heroines”. The recording captures three live concerts held in February 2025 at Chicago’s Lyric Opera of Chicago, featuring Radvanovsky with the orchestra and presenting twelve arias from Puccini’s repertoire, including roles from La Bohème, Turandot, Tosca and others. The album highlights her interpretations of Puccini’s most celebrated heroines.
