Italian opera houses are preparing for upcoming productions of works by Giacomo Puccini.

In Como, the Teatro Sociale will open its 2026-27 season with Turandot on September 24. The production, curated by Nadir Dal Grande and Jenny Cappelloni, focuses on the unfinished nature of the score. The season is dedicated to Science, marking the bicentenary of Alessandro Volta's death. The performance features a cast including Songha Lee, Gerardo Dell’Affetto, and Baopeng Wang, with musical direction by Alessandro D’Agostini.

In Piacenza, the Teatro Municipale is hosting the “Prima di andare in scena” series. On September 27, musicologist Gian Francesco Amoroso will lead a listening guide for La Bohème. This presentation precedes the opera's scheduled performances on October 2 and 4, directed by Vincenzo Milletarì and staged by Leo Nucci.
