Pucón road closure following sinkhole on Ruta Segunda Faja

A sinkhole has forced the suspension of vehicular traffic on the Ruta Segunda Faja in Pucón, Chile. The incident occurred at kilometer 6 near the Candelaria Bridge, which connects the area to Villarrica.

Local authorities, including the Pucón Municipality's Disaster Risk Management Office and Carabineros, determined that the pavement cracked due to the runoff of material from nearby hillsides. As a result, the road is closed to general traffic until technical teams can evaluate and repair the damage, with access currently restricted to local residents. Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes such as Subida Krause or Candelaria y Los Riscos.
