Puebla activist Minerva González Roque killed in hit-and-run

Minerva González Roque, a prominent activist known as ‘Minita’, was laid to rest in the Chachapa cemetery in Amozoc following her death in Puebla. González Roque was a member of the collective Voz de los Desaparecidos and had spent seven years searching for her son.

The activist died after being struck by a public transport vehicle in the Historic Center of Puebla on August 13. Witnesses reported that the 84-year-old woman, who used crutches, was attempting to cross the street when she was hit by a bus from Route 67. The driver reportedly fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle a short distance away to evade authorities. The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) is currently conducting an investigation to identify the responsible party.
