Puebla health services expand with new neurosensory chamber and rehabilitation center
The State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF) in Puebla has inaugurated a new neurosensory chamber at the State Mental Health Center. This project, which was 18 years in the making, involved an investment of 1.664 million pesos through the State Government's Community Work Program. The chamber provides visual and auditory stimulation tools to assist in the detection and diagnosis of neurosensory development disorders in children and adults, strengthening the field of paidopsychiatry.
Additionally, Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier is overseeing the construction of the Integral Rehabilitation and Specialties Center (CIRE-SEDIF). This project represents an investment of 198 million pesos and has reached 41 percent completion. Once operational, the center is expected to serve more than 150,000 people annually, focusing on vulnerable populations.
In a broader effort to improve community infrastructure, SEDIF is also investing over 40 million pesos across 154 municipalities in Puebla. This funding supports 432 community actions, including the improvement of breakfast rooms, child assistance centers, training centers, and rehabilitation units to benefit approximately 43,000 people.
