Puebla and El Mante roll out municipal food‑aid packages in Mexico

Mayor Pepe Chedraui of Puebla, through DIF Puebla Capital, led a large distribution of the city’s “Alimentación Imparable” program in the Colonia Héroes de Puebla neighborhood. The free food parcels target elderly people, individuals with disabilities, children and other vulnerable families, aiming to ensure no household goes without a meal. Chedraui said the effort aligns with the broader social‑security agenda of President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Alejandro Armenta.

In El Mante, Tamaulipas, municipal president Patty Chío inaugurated the “Dotación de Verano” distribution at the Niños Héroes primary school. The initiative, coordinated with the State DIF and Governor Américo Villarreal, provides 5,000 double‑portion food packages to children enrolled in the state’s school‑breakfast program during the vacation period, guaranteeing continued nutrition at home.

Both programs reflect local government efforts to reinforce food security for disadvantaged residents through free nutritional assistance.
