Puebla authorities arrest 'El Tato' for deadly La Coss nightclub arson
Authorities in Puebla have arrested Gabriel N., known as 'El Tato', in connection with a deadly arson attack on the La Coss nightclub. The arrest took place on August 30, 2026, in the Tres Cerritos neighborhood following intelligence and field operations by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE).
The incident occurred on November 18, 2025, in the Popular Coatepec neighborhood. Investigators allege that Gabriel N. arrived at the establishment with other armed individuals on motorcycles. The group reportedly sprayed fuel and set fire to the interior of the nightclub and a vehicle parked outside.
The attack resulted in seven fatalities and five injuries. Gabriel N. faces charges of qualified homicide and attempted qualified homicide.
