Puebla authorities link driver to death of activist Minerva González Roque

A judge in Puebla has formally linked Marco Antonio N. to a criminal process for aggravated involuntary manslaughter following the death of Minerva González Roque, known as ‘Minita’. The 84-year-old activist and member of the Colectivo Voz de los Desaparecidos was struck and killed by a Route 67 microbus on August 13 in the historic center of Puebla.

As part of the precautionary measures, the court ordered the defendant to report every 15 days, prohibited him from leaving the state of Puebla, and set a financial guarantee of 10,000 pesos. The defendant's legal liberty remains subject to a district judge's decision pending an ongoing amparo trial.

A two-month period has been established for complementary investigations, which is scheduled to conclude on December 23, 2026.
