Puebla authorities rescue two Chinese nationals from kidnapping

Authorities in Puebla, Mexico, rescued two Chinese nationals who were being held captive in a safe house near the Valsequillo highway. The rescue operation was launched by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) following an urgent alert from the Chinese Consulate in Mexico regarding the illegal deprivation of liberty and ransom demands.

The victims, who previously resided in Nicaragua, reported they were lured to Mexico by a fraudulent job offer. Upon arrival, they were detained, stripped of over 12,000 USD in cash and 60,000 pesos through forced bank withdrawals, and coerced into contacting relatives in China to demand further payments.

During the intervention, agents neutralized an armed guard, identified as 24-year-old Eduardo N., who was caught in flagrante delicto. Investigators also seized a 16-gauge shotgun, ammunition, and a mobile phone. The victims were released unharmed.
