Puebla authorities seize 21,000 liters of illegal fuel and seven tankers

State and federal security forces recovered more than 21,600 liters of illegal hydrocarbons during an operation in San Salvador El Verde, Puebla. The intervention, conducted in the community of San Lucas El Grande, targeted the illegal transport and storage of fuel, often referred to as ‘huachigas’.

Authorities seized seven tanker trucks suspected of being used for the illegal transport of LP gas. One 32-year-old man, identified as Óscar Tomás “N”, was detained after failing to provide legal documentation for the vehicle he was operating.

The operation involved personnel from the Mexican Navy (Secretaría de la Marina), the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), and the Puebla State Public Security Secretariat. The seized fuel, vehicles, and the detainee have been placed at the disposal of ministerial authorities to investigate the origin of the hydrocarbons and the scope of the illegal operation.
