Puebla business leaders urge authorities to maintain ban on Palalia’s Tour

The Business Coordinating Council (CCE) of Puebla and the National Chamber of Passenger and Tourism Transport (CANAPAT) have called on authorities to remain firm against pressures to reinstate Palalia’s Tour. The transport service, which operates routes between Puebla, Atlixco, and Matamoros, was recently removed from circulation by the Secretariat of Mobility and Transport (SMT) due to a lack of necessary legal documentation and safety requirements.

Recent protests by Palalia’s Tour operators led to significant traffic disruptions and blockades on the Vía Atlixcáyotl. Amidst these demonstrations, allegations have surfaced suggesting a local mayor from the Labor Party (PT) may be influencing efforts to reactivate the service to secure a new route for a potential second term. While these political accusations have emerged following the SMT's regulatory actions, authorities have not officially confirmed any political involvement in the matter.
