San Pedro Cholula mayor launches rain response and street rehabilitation projects
The municipal government of San Pedro Cholula, led by Mayor Tonantzin Fernández, has kept a permanent operational unit active after recent heavy rains. Civil protection teams are monitoring flooded streets, evacuating residents from at‑risk homes, clearing debris, and coordinating with the Secretariat of Infrastructure and the Acuatech crew to pump out water. No injuries have been reported so far.
In parallel, the administration began rehabilitation work on Calle 3 Norte in the Santiago Mixquitla neighborhood, replacing drainage and water‑supply networks, resurfacing the pavement and sidewalks, and repairing curbs. The nearby Deportivo Olmeca sports complex also received maintenance, including grass trimming, tree pruning, removal of weeds, repainting of fences and equipment, and repair of surrounding streets. These works aim to improve daily mobility and public safety for thousands of residents and visitors.
