Puebla plans 1.6 billion peso Cablebús expansion to La Resurrección
The Government of Puebla is evaluating the expansion of the Cablebús system with a proposed fifth line to connect the Amalucan station to the La Resurrección community. The project is estimated to require an investment of approximately 1.6 billion pesos, a figure that will be updated during the 2027 fiscal year.
Because La Resurrección holds the legal status of an indigenous community (pueblo originario), the project's execution is subject to a formal public consultation to ensure local consensus. If implemented, the line aims to significantly reduce travel times, which currently can exceed three hours for residents traveling to the southern part of the capital.
In a related development, the State Congress has approved a decree authorizing the Puebla City Council to donate municipal land to the State Government. These plots will be used for the construction, installation, and operation of stations for the Cablebús system, specifically for the Parque Biblioteca, Parque Juárez, and Cerro de Amalucan stations, as well as an intermodal transfer node in the Mayorazgo area.
