Puebla Congress Commission approves proposal for sweets catalogue

The Culture Commission of the Puebla State Congress has approved a project to urge the State Government's Secretariat of Art and Culture to issue a 'Catálogo de Dulces Poblanos' (Catalogue of Poblano Sweets) and launch a diffusion campaign to preserve this cultural heritage.

During a session held in the municipality of Cuetzalan, the commission also approved a proposal to request that the Tehuacán City Council consider installing a commemorative plaque for journalist Jaime Raúl Vázquez Miranda.

Legislators participating in the session emphasized the importance of using public policy to protect cultural identity and the rights of indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities in Puebla.
