Club Necaxa appoints Juan Reynoso following loss to Puebla

Club Puebla secured a 1-0 away victory against Club Necaxa during Matchday 8 of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament. The decisive goal was scored by Mathías Tomas in the 90+3 minute, breaking a scoreless deadlock that had persisted throughout most of the match at Estadio Victoria.

Following the defeat, Necaxa management dismissed head coach Martín Varini. In response, the club has appointed Peruvian manager Juan Reynoso as the new technical director. Reynoso, who famously led Cruz Azul to a league title in 2021, has signed a contract that extends his tenure with the club until December 2027. He is expected to begin his duties immediately to address the team's current standing in 13th place.
