Doctor murdered in her Puebla medical office
Authorities in Puebla are investigating the homicide of Rosa María Carrasco Fernández, a 71-year-old physician found dead in her medical office at the Condominio Médico BIOS in San Baltazar Campeche.
According to reports, the victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Surveillance footage from the building reportedly shows a man and a woman entering the office hours before the body was discovered. While no arrests have been made, investigators are looking into a potential motive involving a long-standing legal dispute over property and alleged fraud that the victim had been involved in since 2021.
The Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) has initiated an investigation, with the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Investigation of Femicides and Gender Violence participating in the proceedings. The Colegio de Medicina Interna de Puebla issued a statement mourning the loss of the prominent internist.
