Puebla expands international connectivity and promotes cultural heritage
Puebla is strengthening its position as a major tourism and cultural hub through gastronomic celebrations and increased international connectivity. To mark National Mole Poblano Day, Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier led events honoring traditional cooks and artisans, emphasizing a policy of shared prosperity for small and medium enterprises in the tourism sector.
Significant infrastructure and connectivity improvements have been reported, with the state's flight options expanding from six to 20 national and international routes, including connections to major U.S. cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston. These developments serve as preparation for Puebla hosting the Tianguis Turístico in May 2027.
Additionally, the 'Punto México' initiative, a collaboration between federal and state tourism authorities, is showcasing the region's artisanal talent. More than 50 artisans from over 20 municipalities are participating in the promotion of products like talavera, textiles, and local foods. Puebla currently ranks as the fourth most visited state in Mexico, reporting over 4.35 million tourists between January and July.
