Puebla finishes 'Puente de la Transformación' bridge, improving travel for 1.8 million residents

The Mexican Construction Industry Chamber (CMIC) delegation in Puebla met with State Secretary of Infrastructure José Manuel Contreras de los Santos to review the newly completed “Puente de la Transformación”. The bridge replaces the long‑standing “Panga” crossing, linking the San Baltazar Tetela auxiliary junction with Los Ángeles Tetela.

The project cost over 292.6 million pesos, involved 480 metres of roadway, 28 concrete piles up to 40 tonnes each, 800 on‑site precast slabs and more than 5,000 cubic metres of high‑specification concrete—equivalent to filling two Olympic‑size swimming pools. It is designed to serve roughly 1.8 million residents, shortening travel times and enhancing safety for families, medical emergencies and commerce. CMIC Puebla president Raymundo del Valle Lafont highlighted the economic spill‑over, noting the construction sector stimulates up to 70 related industries and retains the economic benefit within the state.
