Puebla Government invests 1,000 million pesos in airport modernization

The Puebla State Government is advancing a modernization and expansion project for the Huejotzingo International Airport and the consolidation of the Puebla Airport District. The initiative involves an estimated total investment of 1,000 million pesos to improve infrastructure, access points, and commercial areas.

Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier stated that the state will contribute government-owned land located in front of the terminal to foster economic and commercial development alongside private sector partners. The project is structured in phases, with an initial 600 million pesos planned for the first stage and an additional 450 million pesos to complete the project by next year.

José Luis García Parra, General Cabinet Coordinator, noted that an agreement with Grupo Mundo Maya is currently under review, which will allow for the commencement of bidding processes once finalized. Complementing these physical works, the Secretariat of Tourism is conducting promotional campaigns for the “Puebla, El Latido de México” brand in major domestic hubs like Mexico City (AICM), AIFA, Cancún, Monterrey, and Mérida, with upcoming expansions to Tijuana, Guadalajara, and international markets including New York, Los Angeles, Houston, and Chicago.
